In 2002 my husband Al and I decided we needed a house pet. He wanted a big dog with long hair and I on the other hand wanted a small dog with short hair. After much research we had it narrowed down to four or five breeds. At the time we were expecting our first grand child, so being good with children was a must. My daughter Jeana kept telling us we needed a boxer. I was skeptical to say the least. After much prodding I took the leap and found a reputable kennel that raised them. I thought it wouldn’t hurt to take a little look. Long story short… once I saw those puppies I was hooked. Four short weeks later I brought Rosie Rae Rae home. It didn’t take long for us to fall in love with her. Since that day we never once regretted getting a boxer baby. Eleven grand kids later things have changed. Sadly we lost Rosie in 2012 due to declining health issues. But she had a good long life. Our home is not the same without her. We have Sophie, a dark fawn with black mask, KaCee, a flashy brindle and Lanie a flashy fawn. Our daughter has Maggie a reverse brindle that will round out our Fab 4.  We are hoping to add one more in the future. It’s hard to not keep one every time we have a new litter.
